Restorative Yoga
Slow Sundays, late mornings, low light, long shadows, easy poses and soft breaths and so much support, this is a practice of deep rest.

This event is part of Open House Festival and is also part of and supported by The National Lottery Community Fund and the Mayor of London, as part of the Mayor’s Community Weekend 2025.

This camp will be themed “20th Century Women” and will trailblazing, re-defining female artists. Think Louise Bourgeois, Georgia O’Keeffe, Alma Thomas and lots more.

Myths, Maps & Monsters Summer Day Camp: Minotaur Mayhem! (Thursday)
Our brave adventurers drop in on Ancient Athens, where King Aegues is having some problems with his pirate neighbours from Krete! Can our young Athenians sail across the seas, enter the labyrinth beneath King Minos' palace, and defeat the Minotaur?
An immersive, interactive summer holiday activity camp, where young adventurers must complete a series of super-fun challenges in order to defeat famous, mythical beasts from Greek Mythology. Our brave warriors-in-waiting can expect to try their hand at Cyclops archery, have a water fight with Poseidon and play the Minotaur at basketball!
Only for children aged 5+

It is the year 1200 BCE and Odysseus and his army find themselves trapped in a Cyclops' cave! Our brave young warriors must use teamwork, cunning and skill in order to complete a series of tasks, outsmart the Cyclops and return home to victory!

This camp will be themed “Houses and Homes” and will involve an exploration of art and architecture including Do Ho Shu, le Corbusier, and Rachel Whiteread. Expect sketching, model making, paper crafting and sculpting.

Art Forest School: Den Weaving
Art Forest School (Lucy and Pippa) would like to invite you to join a new series of exciting accessible Art Forest School events.
For this event we will be located at the Good Shepherd Studios Garden for a new workshop; Den Weaving!
The workshop will give children an opportunity to make art in a way that appeals to their inbuilt inquisitiveness and creativity, and aims to have a calming effect by using natural sensory materials.
Art Forest School design workshops so that children and young people with disabilities are given the opportunity to engage creatively with materials and process, and have their output given the same weight and attention as any other artwork. They have ranged from giant weaving to cave painting, from sand gardens to polaroid photography - all with the intention to be not only as accessible as possible, but as compelling and - crucially - as valued.
This session is designed to be inclusive, please do contact us if you want to discuss your child’s access needs.

Make It Do It: May Half-Term Camp
Join us for 2 days exploring the iconic paintings from the re-hang of the wonderful permanent collection at the National Gallery, opening this May.
These paintings span from the 13th to 20th centuries, ranging from Raphael and Titian to Constable and Gainsborough.

Art Forest School: Sensory Sand Garden
Art Forest School presents “Sensory Sand Gardens” a SEND friendly session.
Art Forest School design accessible workshops so that children and young people with and without disabilities are given the opportunity to engage in creativity and nature.

Kids' Short Films: Nature Through Children’s Eyes
“Nature Through Children’s Eyes,” is a 7-minute film created by Year 4 students at George Tomlinson and Davies Lane primary schools.
Exploring nature from their perspective, the film is created from the children’s own footage, artwork, music, and voiceovers.

Join Future Creators — a free programme where you'll get to dream up an awesome event and learn how to make it happen!
Over 6 fun, hands-on workshops, you’ll work with other young people to design, plan, and deliver an event in your community. You’ll gain real-world creative skills in event production, teamworking, budgeting, promotion and more — all while having fun and making something you’re proud of.

Make It Do It: Easter Camp
Join us for 4 creative days exploring the world of Turner Prize winners and nominated artists.
We'll be looking at artists such as Chris Ofili, Rachel Whiteread, Grayson Perry, and Lubaina Himid.
You'll learn all about the prize as a highlight of the UK calendar and create artwork in many media (printmaking, ceramics, sculpture, painting, model-making and more) inspired by these wonderful artists.

The Seedling 2025
Celebrating selfhood and creative wellbeing in culture, nature and soma.
The Seedling is a workshop exchange series that connects the fields of dance and somatics with intercultural dialogue and environmental contexts of practice, and which is based around an annual theme. The theme for 2025 is Musicality of Inner Landscapes.

These eco-fashion workshops are aimed at 5-11 year olds to turn their old clothes into something new!

Monthly Life Drawing Social
1st SUNDAY OF THE MONTH, 18.00

Monthly life drawing class suited to all abilities and although untutored, advice and direction is freely given on request. Materials included.
Experienced and dynamic life models each week.
Class consists of 2 × 50min sessions with 15min social interval. The first session includes quick short poses ranging from 1min to 10mins. The second session involves 2 longer poses.

Nearest stations: Leytonstone High Road (Overground) and Leytonstone (Central line)
Nearest bus stops: Leytonstone High Road station Stop J and Stop F (257 and W13).
Parking: There is no parking onsite but restricted street parking is available nearby.
Please check the Waltham Forest Council website and street signs for up-to-date restrictions.
Vehicle restrictions at time of writing:
Controlled Parking Zone: LSE, Permit holders only, Mon-Fri, 10am – 2pm
School Street (Davies Lane east of the junction with Pastures Path): No travel into the zone during term time between 8.30am and 9.15am and 3.00pm and 3.45pm.
Accessibility
There is no lift in the building. There is, however, step-free access available to the ground floor (including toilets).
The Auditorium is located on the 1st floor and only accessible via steps.
The Annex is located on the ground floor and there is step-free access to this space.
